Custom Scout Badges

Scout badges are a visual narrative of an individual’s journey through scouting. Proudly displayed on their uniform, they articulate a rich story of their accomplishments and experiences from learning new skills to participating in unique activities to earning awards and accolades.

Girl custom scout badges are embroidered patches that commemorate a specific event or experience for a Girl Scout troop. Unlike Girl Scout badges, Girl Scout Fun Patches do not require the scout to master a new skill in order to earn them.

A custom Girl Scout Fun Patch can be designed by a troop leader, scout or family member to celebrate any special occasion or achievement. This design is then embroidered using a basic running stitch to create the outlines of the patch’s elements, with satin stitches filling in the larger areas. Some embroidery techniques can also be used to add texture, glow-in-the-dark threads or beads for a more unique look.

Gold Standard: The Timeless Elegance of Bullion Patches”

More than 135 merit badges exist for Scouts to choose from spanning a variety of subjects including art, business, culture, nature, sports, science, and technology. A Scout must work with a qualified counselor to complete the steps and requirements for a badge. Once the badge is earned, it will be sewn to the Scout’s merit badge sash to permanently display their hard work and expertise.

Merit badges can be a great way for a Scout to explore their interests, hone their skills, or pick up a new hobby. For example, the Inventing merit badge gives Scouts the opportunity to learn how to turn their ideas into reality. During the first release of this ultra-rare badge, only 10 Scouts ever earned it because its requirements included filing for a patent—a very difficult and time-consuming task for anyone to do.
